Hey I wanted to say I'm a teenager who watched your video about high school and the problems you went through. It really helped me because I watched it when I was in a bad place. So thank you so much
Hey I know this is a big ask. But do you guys think you could like this video enough? So that way she'll respond to it. I would love to get to have her see that she helps some kid.
Same. I was pretty scared when she disappeared for a long period of time but when she came back and she was fine I found it all very inspirational. The fact that she went through a ton of terrible stuff and is still alive today means a lot, at least it does to me. Even seeing her original videos meant a lot to me, so I hope she does see this.
Pro tip for drink orders. Grab a couple of cup holders when you're in the gas station and save the ones from previous orders if you can. They'll come in clutch for you. I have to say though I've never had that many sodas on one order. I'd personally just unassign that order and move on.
Real. Though It confuses me why people don’t use atleast the center consoles 2 cup holders when it comes to carrying many drinks, like her in the video.
The bit at 7:10 is so true, though. Went doordashing with a friend one night, and one of the places we were delivering to was a gated house. Not a gated neighborhood, but a _whole_ *_HOUSE_* with its own gate. Not to mention that the house itself was huge. Makes me wonder why some of the people ordering can't just get it themselves xD
Video proof that Doordashers will do ANYTHING to get some cash. I mean, you can have all natural disasters happening at once and you'd still have dashers delivering whatever you've ordered
Honestly though ;; You Doordashers got me through my pregnancy when all I could eat was McDonald's without puking. My dashers probably HATED me so much just ordering fries and a soda, but I always tried to tip well!!
Door dashing is such an experience. I used to door dash in a small mountain town during my college years and the story’s I have are worth a lifetime. From gay Christian’s trying to convert me at a Applebees, to ghost sightings, to nearly getting shot. It was some wild times.
Never thought I’d have the opportunity to share this. I worked Uber Eats for around two months or so. Much like yourself, I was a go-getter: if an order popped up, I took it without hesitation. I worked the full 12 hours, no lunch sometimes, from 3:30 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. I felt on top of the world for those first few weeks. But it all came crashing down after month two. I burnt out hard. I haven’t been able to do Uber Eats or similar style delivery jobs since; I hated myself for it too, because throughout the entire two months I held a 100% satisfaction rating. I took the job very seriously. Moral of the story: by all means be a go-getter and enjoy your job, but don’t let it consume you like I did. To this day I still have difficulties accepting the fact that I can’t do the job anymore; but I reaped what I sowed. Edit: Lovely video as always! Glad to see you’re still around making great content. Cheers!
Damn...i could never...i once had to give out free cookies I had helped baking with Some of my classmates and I became so scared I just stood there staring at people instead of offering them cookies I Even cry when I have to go to New places alone I'm so scared I can't Eat or anything and when i'm finally there Will I just start crying hard...and I Will keep doing that until I go Home Again (I'm only diagnosed with a learning disability so I have No Idea why i'm so scared...even just being sick for a week makes me so scared of Going back to School) sorry for the rant
@nat_479 Don't sweat it. Truth be told, I only lasted as long as I did due to pure adrenaline. I obviously don't know what learning difficulty you may have (I myself have Asperger's, ADHD, amongst many others); what I can advise however is to prepare your environment, at least what is within your reach, so as to make it easier. I was always very friendly with the customers, but I also recognise the social aspect of UberEats takes a toll, so I would put on music I enjoyed and bought snacks in-between deliveries to keep myself grounded. It won't rid the problem completely, but it did help me at least especially when I had to make deliveries in the city and in sketchy areas.
4:55 As a tip, I recommend dropping by a Chik fil a for their drink carriers. When I was still doing DD, I would seatbelt in the drink carriers and put the drinks in there to artificially increase the amount of cup holders my car has for orders such as this
I'm also here to say thx I've been watching for 8 or so years and in rly happy to see ur vids I was 8 when I watched that FNAF burn in fire one I'm now 16
I was a doordasher, and this is accurate! I hated apartment complexes, and gated communities! Some people didn't know the code to get into gated communities, apartment complexes are confusing, gotta park in places you probably shouldn't park, and having more than two drinks sucked! I had to deal with spilt cups and drive more carefully if I had more drinks! Be careful out there dasher!
There's just something about your work that makes me feel thrilled as well as other times i felt injured inside and out. Though you helped me get passed through it. You make me feel welcome to the community. Thank you. Remember to have a wonderful day and year 2025 plus God Bless you, shgurr ma'am.
The intro is absolutely what it's like for your drop off to be at an apartment complex, usually with horrible lighting. Got crazy flashbacks from this video lol Be safe out there Shgurr!
6:00 I too door dash for a living. A few weeks ago, I was dropping off this one order, and as I was getting the drink out of my car and the lid popped off and spilled all over me. Best part is, when I told the customer about it, THEY DIDNT EVEN ORDER A DRINK.
I just started my second semester in college as a freshman and I’m going to my grandmother’s funeral tomorrow. This came at such a good time. I really needed some humor after a long, stressful week. Thanks for the laughs
I will never be able to answer the question as to how Shgurr got 8 sodas on a busy street delivered successfully, but then tipped over “only 2 sodas” when she was driving “more” carefully.
Oml I feel you 😭 I helped my sister do some orders once and we had to deliver to an apartment complex. The elevator was broken and the apartment was on the 10TH FLOOR.
I'm a deliveroo rider in Scotland and the drinks I related so much to. Having to cycle with the same kinda cups some places don't even put a sticker on the hole to drink out of and in the pouring rain is absolute torture. I've learnt never to take any coffee shop cause burning my back and wrecking my bag is just not worth it
Usually when I get a drink order put them on the seat and use a seatbeat to hold them down. I never really like putting drinks on the floor since they silde so easy and might probably fall if I turn too sharp. I also always get a cupholder when I can so its easier to use the seatbeat to hold the drinks
Shgurr i Recently stumbled across your channel and i absolutely love the content within like 3 days i watched most of your vids😂 thank you for posting you're amazing ❤
Ah, a doordash story. Im just glad you haven't ended in a Mr. Nightmare doordash video, unless a not so creepy but not worth talking event happened. Doordash can be scary, so obviously, be careful
Shgurr, I watch your "Asked Out As A Prank" a while back. I understand and impressed with how you managed to avoid those problems. For me, I wasn't bulled like that, but I was still being picked on ever since my school days none the less. I even remember when I was at camp at the age of 14, some boys pulled my pants down to my ankles. I was very hurt and distraught. I hated that....
Former DoorDasher here. The gig economy has made working for apps like Uber and DoorDash more and more appealing given how unstable the typical 9 to 5 market is. It's a fun way to make some extra income to add on to your regular paycheck as well as a convenient excuse to travel to places in your city that you normally would never get to see. That part about seeing rich neighborhoods is no joke. I can't tell you how many times I had to ask for a gate code so I can get in to deliver their Thai food. Also, people who order McDonald's tend to be the worst customers. They are already buying cheap food, so they tend to leave little to no tip.
